THE TASMAN ENSEMBLE is an exciting new formation in 2019 of New Zealand pianist Tony Chen Lin and Australian violinist Christina Lieberwirth-Morris. This young, dynamic duo were inspired to take its name from the vast Tasman Sea that separates New Zealand and the east coast of Australia, while their careers have been formed well beyond the borders of their two home countries. The two musicians met and started working together at the Freiburg Music University in Germany, where they have both spent many years studying. The duo meet regularly in their current homes of Freiburg und Budapest to work together.
Tony and Christina have just returned from their tour of New Zealand and Sydney in March, performing works by Mozart, Beethoven, Bartok and Leo Weiner. There will be new concert dates soon in 2019 soon to come.
DAS TASMAN ENSEMBLE ist ein neues Gespann aus Musiken, der australischen Geigerin Christina Lieberwirth-Morris und dem neuseeländischen Pianisten Tony Chen Lin. Der Name des Ensembles ist inspiriert von der großen tasmanischen See, welche die beiden Länder trennt.
Dieses junge, leidenschaftliche Duo hat bereits viele Jahre in Europa gelebt. Beide haben an der Musikhochschule in Freiburg für mehrere Jahre studiert und sie spielen seit 2018 zusammen. In 2019 hat das Tasman Ensemble bereits Konzerte in Freiburg, Neuseeland und Australien gespielt.
